New Fall Look

I hope everyone likes the new fall background. I'm having some issues adding our blog links, but I'm working on it.

Happy Fall Season!!

Melekamu McDreamy

What has the little girls of the IAN family screaming, crying, and fainting??? That's right....it is the arrival of our blog's first male heart throb, Melekamu.
Melekamania began on August 31st when he first stepped foot on U.S. soil. Tigerbeat Magazine was there to cover his arrival, and had this to say:

"The scene was pure pandemonium! We haven't seen anything of this magnitude since the Beatles arrived at JFK in 1964!"

Anonymous sources say that Melekamu fever is causing rifts among our IAN family. It is reported that former BFF's Amelia Howlett (founder and president of the Melekamu fan club, CO Chapter) and Gabre Reeves (founder and president of the Melekamu fan club, TX Chapter) are feuding over who will present Melekamu with keys to the city of Boulder. Hopefully, these little ladies can come to a compromise, and harmony will return to the blog world.

The arrival of this superstar has also caused some controversy among the parents of his adoring fans. Moms and Dads are up in arms over the fact that Melekamu is so much younger than his legion of followers. Lidia Rodda, advocate of May/December relationships and author of "I am Cougar; Hear Me Roar," claims that parents have nothing to worry about. She cites the relationship of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher as an example of how, when it comes to love, age is just a stage of mind.

To follow the adventures of this little celebrity, check out The Story of Us blog.

IAN Fashion Corner

Some may look to the runways of Paris, Milan, and New York for the newest trends in fashion, but here at IAN, we need not look any further than our family blogs.

So...what is the fashion "must have" among our little blogger fashion plates....the headband. That's right... the headband, paired with a simple Ethiopian T-shirt, is the toddler wardrobe staple of the season.

Let's check out how these fashion mavens are wearing this years biggest fashion trend.

Gabre - "the trendsetter"

Not since Madonna, circa 1983, have we seen such a variety of headbands. Whether it be lace, bows, poofs, or polka dots, this little fashionista really knows how to mix it up.

Lidya - "simple sophistication"
Little Lidia knows one of the cardinal rules of fashion...play up your assets. A simple band, with an understated bow, is the perfect accessory to her exquisite eyes.

Amelia - "the risk taker"
Carrie Bradshaw (of SITC fame) may have made the flower pin one of her signature fashion pieces, but Amelia had the gumption to take to the next level by pairing it with a headband. Bravo Amelia! I think we'll be seeing some Manola Blahnik booties from this little one in the future.

Most of the fashions, modeled above, will be available soon at Adopt and Shop on the Hope-Reeves family blog. A percentage of all proceeds will go to the IAN Charity incentive.

IAN - Team Ethiopia

The other day I was speaking with Courtney, at IAN, and I started to think about the important part she is playing in my life and how little I know about this person , who is literally the gateway to my child. I know it is her job to have access to the deepest, darkest secrets within my home study, but somehow it doesn't seem fair that I only know her by her voice and the 10pt Arial font of her email. I know there are a number of us, in states outside of CO, who will never have the opportunity to meet our IAN representative. So, after much coaxing, I was able to obtain these photos of the IAN Ethiopian staff. I hope everyone enjoys getting a glimpse of the person on the other end of the phone line.

BTW....as a special treat Gabre, the beautiful daughter of Leah Reeves (IAN's Texas Adoption Coordinator) is included in these photos, along with Leah's handsome husband, Scott.

Welcome to the IAN family blog!!

This blog was created to connect families who are united through IAN (International Adoption Net) and the children of Ethiopia. This blog is not written or managed by IAN staff; it is the idea, and creation, of a few families going through the adoption process. Our hope is to provide a fun environment for families to share their stories and, of course, to provide photos of their beautiful children.

We invite all IAN families to participate in this blog. Please leave a comment if you have any questions, concerns or content ideas and we will get back to you.

Enjoy!!!
